Throttle response with FMIC

Throttle response with FMIC
I'm running an STI 8 with the OEM turbo, custom 3" exhaust, sports cat, Harvey's ported headers. I've also installed a FMIC as I intend to upgrade to a TD05 18/20G next year. The car was mapped by Andy Forrest and I'm generally very happy - goes like stink and 350bhp + 330ft/lb
However, one thing is a bit disappointing and that's the lag when planting the throttle. I don't mean waiting for turbo spool up (that's far better now than the standard car); rather when I take it to 6K-6.5K rpm on full throttle, and change gear. The revs drop back down to around 4.5K rpm, at which point the turbo is still fully spooled up, but there's still a significant lag between planting the throttle again and when it gets up and goes.
Obviously, there's a lot more air to be moved through the system now with the FMIC in place, but is there anyway of minimising this lag? Will this aspect be improved if I fit an uprated turbo? What do other people with FMICs find?
Cheers, Andrew
