Default HI - and a few questions!

Afternoon all!

Just signed up so thought i'd say hello

Secondly, I'm new to the Scooby world. Having owned a Ford since passing my test 10 years ago I feel its time for a change so I'm on the lookout for something new. My current hit list are:

Scooby.
Pulsar
or last resort a fiat coupe!

My budget is between 3 and 4k

Is there a scooby buying guide on the site? I've learnt the hardway in the past by rushing into things I dont know a lot about and ended up with the wallet taking a pounding.

Any help and advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

Simon

Hi,

Welcome!

If you use the search function you'll see this has been asked hundreds of times before. There will be a link in one of the other posts which will point you to a FAQ. It's not a buying guide, but a good read to familiarise yourself with Scoobies.

There was also a cracking Pulsar for sale on here, check out the for sale section.

best advice, is to look for a standard example of both, by both i mean the pulsar and the scoob

forget the coupe, they look good, but just take a look on the fiat forums, there forever breaking and the cost an abosolute fortune to get parts for.

there will be more parts for the scoob than the pulsar, something you will need to think about if your on a tight budget. The running costs are also very high, can be the price of the intitial buy price at the cheaper end of the market..

careful not to look at any car through the rose tinted glasses

good luck

IMHO 3-4k isn't enough to be assurred of getting a good Scooby. There are probably a couple genuine ones out there, but most in that price range will be old/done mega miles/need money spending on them. No scooby is cheap to run either!

Sorry to be a doom merchant, but important that you're forewarned!

Hi and welcome to sn

3/4k i think you will struggle, but if you can raise a bit more say 5k you should do ok. i know this as my brouther has just sold his for 5k as he has just got himself a sweet type r (im so jealous) so they are out there it's just a case of haveing a good lookabout. As stated on here go through the search function and arm yourself with loads of questions for when you find one

Good luck with the hunt
