If they plan to kill off TG because you can get injured driving a car, does that mean that they will ban nature programs because the animals can kill you?

Top Gear, I remember watching it back in the 80's in its hayday when it was a proper meat and potatoe car programme, but sadly now its turned into robotwars meets top of the pops/xfactor,with those up their own **** presenters mostly talking out of out of it by the sounds of it.Who cares?apart those who work on the production of the shodprog getting a huge income of licence payers £££.

Agree. Maybe if it goes, JC will shut up for once.

None of which actually matters!
What matters is that it's a wonderfully politically incorrect show featuring cars & it sticks one in the eye of every do-gooder who would have us hugging the nearest tree for the rest of our lives.

Can we get something clear about Top Gear and the TV Licence Fee....

Top Gear is shown on BBC World (one of their most popular programmes) and so generates advertisement revenue, and the Top Gear magazine is one of the most popular car magazines going- in fact a brief glance at the BBC annual report shows that it shifts 175,000 copies a month- even if you take an annual subsciber's rate of £35 per annum, this amounts to £6.1m of revenue, of which I would guess at least £1m is clear profit for the BBC (a VERY conservative estimate).

As with many programmes the anti-license fee brigade complain about, Top Gear generates significant income for the BBC and you the license fee payer.

In short, if it wasn't for the worldwide popularity of JC & co. we could be paying even more for our TV Licences.
