LOOKS LIKE I FOUND OUT THE HARD WAY. BOUGHT A WRX STI VER5 FROM THERE ON THE WEEKEND. DROVE WELL. THEN YESTERDAY STARTING MAKING SOME DODGY NOISES + CALIPER CATCHING ON ALLOY + BRAKES NEARLY SETTING ON FIRE ALL ON THE FRONT LEFT HAND SIDE WHEEL. SO ME AND ME MATE DECIDE TO JACK THE CAR UP. THE WHEEL MOVES ABOUT 4 INCHES AND IS ABOUT TO DROP OFF. VERY DANGEROUS, CONSIDERING I DROVE 150 MILE BACK FROM THERE ON IT.
THIS CAR PASSED AN MOT 600 MILE AGO???!!! ALSO THERE WERE NO WEIRD SOUNDS WHEN I TEST DROVE IT. BEARING IN MIND I PAID 7500 FOR IT.
SPOKE TO HIM TODAY AND HE SAYS HE WOULD FIX IT BUT SEEING AS IT WAS DODGY IN FIRST PLACE HOW CAN I TRUST A COWBOY TO PUT IT RIGHT.
MY MATE RECKONS IT WILL NEED A NEW DISK WHEEL BEARING AND MAYBE A DRIVESHAFT. BUT ToK RECKON ONLY A WHEEL BEARING
ANY COMMENTS

I would contact the trading standards in connection with getting your money back........
Or you could get the work done by a reputable garage & invoice him....

And just to put you right caveat emptor (no 'U' by the way) applies primarily to private sales. Sales through businesses (such as garages/showrooms) are covered by the Sales of Goods Act.
RMA26 gives good advice - contact CAB and/or Trading Standards to put them in the picture. I would only add that it might be worthwhile trying to get the Company to fix it properly first, before mentioning what you have done, as once they become aware of your actions they might not be too friendly?
Good luck m8

Can you not get an independant specialist to check the car over for you and list the problems? Then give ToK the opportunity to rectify to a satisfactory conclusion or request money back.
FWIW Torque and KTC are two different entities. As Chris says you do get what you pay for and you have to be lucky or give the cars you are interested in a damn good check over before parting with your cash. Unfortunately they both rely on buying cheap low grade cars...........
The CAB will give you sound advice but I'm sure they will agree that the seller has to be given the chance to put things right.
My advice.........approach the dispute in a polite but firm manner. Adopting a threatening stance with these guys will not get you anywhere.
Best of luck mate.
