Question

My cars about to go for it's 15k service, are there any extra checks etc I
should ask them to do as the car has been on 3 track days since it's last
service.

I seem to remember someone saying the wheel bearings should be re-greased.

cheers,

Greg

It certainly won't hurt Greg, as my car has gone through two front n/s wheel bearings!
Just tell them to look at the things most at risk; bushes, bearings, shocks, brakes, etc.

How do you know if the wheel bearing is knackered? I sometimes get a light vibration through the steering wheel. I've had the wheels rebalanced and the front disks replaced, the dealer says he can't find anything wrong with the wheel bearings or driveshafts but I suspect he doesn't want the hassle of a warrantly repair.

Thanks

Mark

Jack the front of the car up and try and move the front wheels back and forth (ie. hold the top and bottom of the wheel and pull and push). There should be no play. If there is, it's probably your wheel bearing. Check it asasp, otherwise it can also damage the hub.
