I tis such a shame that they have spent all that money and time doing it, but not for the production line

There was two rumours of the P2 .
1) Prodrive were in talks with Lotus to make it and Subaru for Permission
more controversally but maybe more closer to the truth.
2) The P2 was a just smokescreen for Prodrive, the best way to do secret things are in the open
They could then under the Vail of P2 conceal testing on the potential of the new impending B5 model. Also developing and testing many new parts use in the WRC

T5NYW.
Wasn't the reason for the P2 too show what Prodrive could do for somebody else?

Was it??
Since the first newage every year tweaks are done and Prodrive would only need to modify a small number of parts due to those changes.
Everyman and his dog knows fairly soon the B5 model will arrive and the only bit that maybe simular the engine.
