under bonnet mods
did this today
tilt kit on MY00.
trimmed rubber seal down.....does this look ok to anyone who knows these things??or is it too short now?
also spent about 1hour with a cocktail stick opening up bent fins on the i/c........what a thankless and backbreaking task that was!!

i thought that. after trimming some off i lowered bonnet and it looked like it was gonna just bend the fins it touches. esp as once the rubber is trimmed it is less flexible than before. so i took a fraction more off

IMHO this mod does very little to bhp, but it has done something for you:
You have got your hands dirty on an Impreza and have started to understand them better! And:
The mod will possibly get more air to go through the fin pack, but if you do have a gap between the seal lip and the IC body, the scoop air will get past/out through the easiest way, and that will be through the gap!
You are on the slippy slope of modding car; good luck, see you soon at the bottom of the slope along with a lot more of us!
You are not alone!
