Thumbs up Monitor

I've also got a Tracker Monitor fitted and it reduced my premium loads!

Go for Tracker Monitor, steer clear of the gps systems like RAC trackstar- they seem to be very unreliable.

If its just for insurance i would go for the cheapest approved system.
IMHO they are all crap as most pro thieves will know where they are fitted.
I know an auto electrician who reckons he could find any tracker unit within ten mins.
I have RAC trackstar as fitted as standard, my last Impreza having had a Tracker monitor which i understood isn't recognised by a lot of insurers anymore. Saying that it may have been a Tracker horizon, can't remember which now, or was it Retrieve ????

Default Tracker

Tracker Monitor is all you should need.

There was a lower spec one Tracker Retrieve which seems to have been dropped.

I think this was because it depended on you informing Tracker your car had been stolen.

If you car moves without a key, you will be contacted.

Heard of someone parking somewhere they shouldn't have in edinburgh getting a call. Car was on its way to parking pound

When i was getting quotes, some companies did not insist on one. Try A-Plan and Keith Michaels and the others under the insurance section.

From what i've read the trackers are not upto much anyway.

Default Tracker

It depends on who you go to for insurance.

The big companies like Privilege, Direct Line, Norwich Union will insist on it.

Shop around to see if you can get a better price without because you also have £120 yearly fee for the Tracker.

Default tracker

Yeah , I went with tesco and they demanded I have a tracker , i got a tracker retrieve and its 109.00 a year sub and 400 to fit , although deals can be had .. obviously once you sent the details off to your insurance they wont know if you pay a sub or not in the future ... so you could just get it fitted

Norwich Union didnt insist on it for me but Tesco/direct line/privilege (all the same company really) do.

As already said get the cheapest system you can if you have to.
