Prodrive Front Flaps - How to Remove???
Hiya
I'm trying to raise my front Prodrive flaps (05 WRX) so they don't scrape on the ground during emergency cornering, and I can't get them off!
The upper bolts appear to go through the plastic trim, and presumably have nuts on the rear, but I can't get to them.
Does anyone have any idea how I can remove them??
Thanks.

I think you will find they are not bolts but push in plastic plugs/clips, lever them out very carefully with a trim clip removing tool if poss.

The fronts on mine are held by a number of allen-key head bolts. The lowest one (in-board) has a lock nut on the rear; this can be easily reached with a spanner.
I can't get to the back of the others, and they just turn (reluctantly) rather than loosen...

The subaru plastic inserts that are hidden, have a steel nut inside that rusts solid. The only way to get them off is to use a junior hacksaw, and cut off the screw heads.
With the flaps removed snip the plastic inserts off and throw them in the bin.
Buy some new ones and use lots of copper slip on the threads when fitting.

Rust free stainless steel fixings can be had from any local hardware suppliers. Also, lots of sexy, but expensive stuff from the likes of www.tastynuts.com
Might be worth asking what Scott Lowe has too
