Default Green panel filter question.

My green panel filter arrived today form scoobyworld , it says in the instructions to oil it after cleaning it, but do you have to oil it when new? if so which type of oil? would the KN filter oil work or do I not have to bother until I clean it for the first time?

Thanks John.

Nope doesn't require any oil when new - just drop it straight in after trimming (you need to cut off tabs for it to fit, easy to do with a stanley knife).

After cleaning you will need to re-oil. Use very little oil, even on a new age. I tend to apply just a few light sprays and then leave it overnight to make sure there isn't any excess.

How often do you clean it and which oil did you use?

Thanks.

remove the studs in stages, depends on how it fits in the airbox, you want it to fit snugly but evenly, sit it in, look where its not sitting down right and trim a section off,try again and so on...... ten mins tops

remove filter,
blow out air filter to remove bog bits (give air box a wipe too)
spray on cleaner and allow 15 minutes
you can aggetate with paint brush
rinse in hot water on inside then outside
(repeat if well dirty)
shake to get rid of water
it says use tepid radiatoe of hairdryer, but i just let it dry over nite

then spray green oil onto surface, uniformly but not excessively (i spray it onto the intake side, as opposed to the engine side, that way any excess shud get absorbed by rest of filter)

think all this shud be in kit tho
