06 STi PPP. Driven gently - no over 4K rpm. 16-18 mpg on Tesco 99. Testing Optimax to see if any better.

All this 18-20mpg with light right foot isn't accurate in my opinion - are you lot driving everywhere in 2nd gear or something?

If I hammer mine I get those sorts of figures, but getting 27-28mpg out of it isn't that difficult with mixed driving. Opening it up whenever the road allows and it still gives 24-25mpg. On a motorway cruise at 70mph it will return 35mpg.

The car is remapped running a full decat.

I am running Optimax though (car's mapped for it), but even when it wasn't I still got 5-10% better fuel economy with that in the tank.

Yep, agree with that. Haven't had my Wagon that long, but Optimax / BP Ultimate lifted the Skyline m.p.g. by around 10%, even though that only meant 2 or 3 extra m.p.g. Deffo worth the extra few pence per litre over supermarket s.u.l.

03STi remap to 328/300. Get 25-27 mpg (better since remap) in normal flowing traffic. Much less if ragged.

Standard UK MY00 gives me about 250 miles to a full tank before the light comes on, this is everyday driving, short journeys etc. No idea what mpg this is, don't really care to be honest!

Standard 06 STi, usually about 220 miles from full until the light comes on. Although the last 2 fill ups of optimax (or maybe V-Power) have been 240+ miles.

It's all relative - if you drive with your foot welded to the floor everywhere you go - expect poor fuel economy.

If you drive like you would a "normal" car, you can expect perfectly reasonable economy. On a recent trip to Rugby from Edinburgh (some 600 miles return) which included a mix of driving, but rarely over 75-80mph on the motorway, I averaged 34mpg for the trip. It wasn't terribly exciting, but there you go. This is from a MY97 STI RA V-Limited.

People often jump at the chance to brag about how pathetic their car's fuel economy is - but I wonder if it's really the car that's pathetic?

Standard '53 WRX - usually get about 250 miles out of a tank.
On a long run with the mrs beside me I can get a little over 300 miles per tank
Worst I've seen in mine is 160 before having to fill up!
Can't be arsed to work out the mpg.

i average 240 miles until the light pops on, this is maily town, country lanes, dual carriageway commuting.... fun mode.
300 on a run if keeping out the fast lane on the motorway.

Worst ive seen is 60 miles to a tank, but that was at Oulton Park!

I also make a set of pads last 2 years, so smooth driving is key....

I wish there was a button you could press and the car drives like a normal motor, giving 30mpg. But alas.

MY03 STi type UK PPP.

On my trip round wales i monitored my consumption closely:

On trip to wales and a few miles of urban driving, 27 mpg.
While in wales, small country roads and vilages and some normal urban driving too with occational brisk driving, 23mpg.

MY 05 STI PPP
