Default new member needs advice on Sport

Hi I`m in the process of doing a swap with one of my ford escort rs2000`s for a yr 2000 Sport with 100k on it in immaculate condition,I know the cars history as its a friend of the family and know its been well cared for by an over enthusiastic scooby lover, lol, just wondering if any of you guys could give me a ruff idea of a realistic price on the car,as I know my mk6 rs2k on 61,000 in immaculate condition is worth round the £3000 mark.
Any help with what to lookout for aswell,I`ve never owned a jap car in my life,it will be just for the wife to use.
cheers in advance.

hi mate it depends on how much insurance you want to pay. the sport is like a cheaper alternative to a turbo. you get most the looks but without the performance. ive had both as my first two cars, and do prefer the wrx i have now, even if i cant control it (stay back you trolls... damn you all to hell)

£3000 for a 6 year old car with 100000... i dunno maybe a good price. i payed £2600 for an 8 year old white sport in excellent condition 10 months ago before i even passed my test!! that had 90000 miles on it with near full service history.

i personally would save and get a slightly older turbo, maybe my97 or something, lots of good well cared for cars out there. but a lot of cheap dogs too, so be careful

one thing is on here you will get many opinions. some good. some bad.

all the best fella

thanks for the input guys,I don`t want a turbo, the car will only be used for local use by the wife,we have a turbo Escort s2 along with a couple of rs2000 and a lancia montecarlo for playing in,just wanted a reliable motor for her to use day to day. After having a good look round I don`t think the scoob is worth much more than £2000 anyway. So I`ve decided not to go through with the deal.Cheers again.
