Expensive trip to Tesco's....
The Tesco at Gala has closed pending the erection of one of these "Super-Superstores" where nobody can find anything due to the size of the place and pensioners wander around lost for up to 3 weeks at a time looking for an exit.
They've kindly opened a mini-store in a portacabin as a temporary measure, with access to part of the newly built car-park. I drove into the car park today and as I pulled into the space heard an almighty "CRUNCH". I got out to have a look and my front bumper is scratched and bashed, and all the paint has cracked.
The cause? A whopping great kerb at the front of the space. It's far bigger than a kerb should be and it must have claimed countless victims judging by the amount of paint marks on it.
I'm really annoyed as I'm usually so careful with these things. I expected the kerb to be of normal height and therefore thought the bumper would easily clear it - especially as the car has not been lowered. It now looks like I'm going to have to have the bumper resprayed
Anybody know if Tesco might help?

I got £500 from them on my previous car (WRX) because a trolley wondered down the slopped carpark and scrapped down the side of my car.
But...
It takes a lot of 'persuading' and also i got the manager to look at the car straight away and fill out a factual statement, the first leter they send you is a 'we have no liability... blah blah' to try to make you go away.
However...
the curb you poked your nose over, was it a path? if so there going to say you should'nt of parked your car using the area reserved pedestrian areas
When i had my bugeye 'GX' i scraped the bottom of the bumper several times on curbs in carparks (but no mayor damage) but on my Blobeye WRX and Now STI the bumpers are much higher off the ground.

I know it's my fault, but I don't expect to have to tackle an obstacle course when I go to buy a few things for dinner. As said, it's covered in paint marks so it's obviously an issue. It's too high.

I think you will get a nice letter of thanks pointing out that they will lower the kerb, thanks for your concern.
It will take some persuading to get them to cough up any cash because you drove into it, granted it must be higher than your average kerb, but at the end of the day you hit the kerb, the kerb didnt hit you
Best of luck.
