fitting door handles? MY99
#3
Ayup mate, did mine last weekend..........it's a piece of ****............after standing around for half an hour scratching my nads.
1) Remove door card, be careful not to damage the pins that hold it on..!
2) Remove 3 posi-head screws located on door edge near the locking mechanism, use the longest s/driver you have to get the best leverage as they are bloody tight from factory . Lower locking mechanism into door.
3) Halfway down the door you'll see a 10mm bolt that is attached to the locking mechanism, remove.
4) Look inside door towards the handle, you'll see 2 bolts, again 10mm, remove these, you won't see one until you've completed (2 & 3).
5)Once handle bolts are removed, before removing handle from door, look inside door and you'll see where the handle mech bar enters a "gromet", remove handle from said gromet, pull handle out of door.
Work back to fit new handle, check central locking works, job done.
Out of interest, why are you removing handles, to colour-code..........?
I have a full set of matt black ones for sale @ £40.
Si.
(if in doubt, give me a pm and I'll pass on my mobile to talk u through)
