Evening Everone.

Noticed a few threads on here regarding disappearing Shell Garages and, didn't think anything until now.

However, something spooky has started to happen around here. Went to my local Shell (sludge 94 & Optimax 1.01) it's now a BP, Sludge 99.9 & MULTIimax 1.04.

No problem I thought, go to the next one 5 miles down the road, it's now also a BP tooooo.

Sludge now 1.01 & MULTI SNAX 1.05!!

Is there anything like this happening where you live and, is it a conspiracy?

I think the Shell garage is still Shell near me! I am going to fill up tomorrow anyway, I will see then

Also, Pipe line must be on the case all right... A case of wine I think!! All the flannel about most of them being away in July! WTF

If they all died near me then i would get a remap for bp ultimate, until then its optimax all the way

I have the option of a 25 mile round trip, or a 60 mile round trip for Optimax now. If it gets any worse I’ll need to fill up when I get home from filling up

Interesting to see that similar things are happening in your part of the country.

I wonder why Shell are letting other petrol firms (mostly BP) take over their sites?

Yeah, Darlington had 2 Shell garages, but now only has one that annoyingly keeps on running out of petrol and closing it's forecourt. Usually early morning when people need petrol to get to work.

Apparently the old BP garage in Chip is now Tesco, and is on the list as selling 99RON. That'll do me if so!

I think that Shell do not own the delivery or garage side of the business anymore, it is owned & run by an irish company.

This means that Shell do not have to pay for the upkeep of the sites or the vehicles, but still get the fuels sold.

It is all part of cost cutting by Shell cause obviously they dont make enough money.

Cos the car has been mapped specifically for Shell Optimax, and is much modified and running 400bhp as opposed to 280bhp

So, rather than risk melting the engine, I'd rather put decent fuel in it thanks

im sure 95 ron would still work and there is plenty of other brands that have 97 ron fuel
