Had to resort to Sainsburys SUL. Only 1p more than NUL @ 98.9p/ltr.
Previous fill up was with the Tesco Super Dooper Unleaded which was 97.9p when I brought it, now it's 103.9p

Optimax at my friendly Shell garage in Yarm is now at £1.04....
Wait for the 'if you object to paying for the fuel you shouldn't drive an Impreza' posts.
I don't mind paying the going rate i would just rather pay less

Read your manual.
Mine is not a STi, but my manual says 95ron, so thats what goes in. Filler flaps states no RON value, so can't rely on it (i.e Super could be 97Ron, or 98 ron...or even 100ron as the "super" branding doesn't have to comply with BS7800, whereas RON does as that is a measurement, not a brand - therefore go by the latter)

Read the Manual and find the minimum RON value.
Filler flaps say no RON value...so "which" minimum ron of super unleaded can you you put in?? 97, 98 or 99?...it doesn't say, thus can't rely on it

mapping probs >?
would I be right in thinking , My 02 WRX states super unleaded , which could be anything really , so if it was designed to run on 95 for instance then the ecu would be mapped for 95 for top performance , so if i continue to stick 98 in I am losing !!! performance and paying more ..... just a thought

You will gain from using 98ron...that is, if you regularly blast above 5000rpm which may realise a few horses. Otherwise, if you aren't driving at high revs and full throttle alot, you aren't taking much advantage of it

i hate the attitude of if u begrudge paying for fuel buy a diesel blah blah, at the end of the day,its this snobbery that allow the fuel prices to be hicked up and no-one complains, because were all laoded ?!?!!?
NOT !!
just cause we own a scoob, dont make us all minted !!!
its like houses, bought at the right time/place etc !!
i still think we should all just say,**** it,not go to work on a particualr day,in the masses of millions, because of fuel prices and see what happens to the country then, prob employ foreigners then tho !

fear not ... one day in maybe 10 years or so we'll have our pipeline cards to get us a discount on fuel and not just all those other items we simply can't let slip buy ... such as sat nav units and travel tool kits!
