I generally put about £50 in mine once the low fuel warning light comes on (98 sti4), and I'm sure that there's another gallon or so left.

So, a 60 litre tank would seem fesable.

you wont have a light on a my96. I am certain the the tank on imports is 50lts (read on here some time ago) I know mine (MY93) takes approx 40 ltrs when on empty. Dont often go to this level often though. Funnily I dont suffer from any fuel starvation problems when taking bends this low like others have done so maybe there is an extra 10 ltrs in there. Suppose you could dip the tank when it is on empty on the gauge and see what is there.

Most I have ever got in is 40 Litres and I was sweating cos the needle had been on the empty stop for ages, the garage I usually use had the locks on the SUL.

I did get 400 Km (250 miles) on 40 litres doing a run which works out at about 28 to the gallon but, round town I generally get about 320 Km (200 miles) which is about 22.5 to the gallon.

Early cars have a 50 litre tank with later cars (D-Series onwards) having a 60 litre tank. To add to the confusion some reference sheets mistakenly list the early cars as having a 60litre tank....
