Default little advise

I am looking at getting an exhaust for my99 UK Turbo, at the moment i have just got an STI back box.

What exhaust system would you recommend to get that Subaru sound, and good performance ??

i am looking at getting it from cat back, or maybe take the CAT off??

cheers Dan

Plenty of options. Depends on how loud you want to go, whether you'll be changing the rest of the exhaust components etc.

TSL group N with the 4" out,
mate it to a full de-cat
not too loud or intrusive at motorway speeds

i have a MY99 with the above

Lots of exhaust pics, sounds, on here:
http://www.scoobyworld.co.uk/catalog/

I went for the Ninja B/box first off. Released the noise nicely. Wished it was a little louder.

Then added the remainder of the exhaust components (Afterburner complete decat) now it's loud. But i've got used to it. You should hear it on full chat. It's how it should sound, amazing!

Should've probably bought the resonated centre, to reduce motorway drone. Instead got a bung (£35) from Hayward & Scott. Yet to try it though...

with the increase in road side testing I think a Decat is a mistake.. Sports cat or just the centre removed is loud enough and legal.

Get yourself to a meet and see if you hear (wierd thing to write) anyhting you like

I would do Sports cat, resonated centre and your choice of b/box depending on how loud you want.

I had a Ninja with full-decat - pretty loud.

Now have Magnex resonated centre and oval backbox - not so loud, and much better on m/way.

The PPP exhaust is nice not too loud but with a decat gives a nice sound over 4k, a little quieter below that.
You can go for a hayward and scott exhaust, but it all depends on what you want, if its too loud then you may not like it, and too loud can also attract unwanted attention
