Default New car - Differences explained

OK, first of all...I would like to say hello...yep I am a noob, but not a complete blank sheet of paper. I have been involved with building a GrpN scoob that runs in the ANCRO and BTRDA championship (the Greenergy, Tesco 99 car)

However, this is going to be my first purchase of a road car, and as I am sure you can appreciate the two are quite different.

So the choices, a new 06 Sti or the old shape 05? Trouble is I know my way around the older car, as it was a spec 'C' and can get bits and advice from a few folks (first purchase will be sump guard for here in Finland!!)...but I would really like the new car....any comments or opinions would be appreciated, as you guys are the only peeps that know..

Thanks in advance..

Forgot to mention that the car will be Euro spec, this make a difference? apart from obvious?

mainly after technical details..that ain't om any sales brochures...its hard enough explaining that you want to buy one..as I don't speak finnish!!

So, does the new version still have the twin scroll turbo, equal length manifolds etc....can I PPP a euro spec car or is that only UK?

I would imagine that there will be a shed load of stuff available to tune it, but as it is a new car..will they be as good or reliable as the older car?

Stuck between, old car...trusted drive and goodies...or new car..and new and untried drive?

Why don't you buy one in the UK (whatever model you decide), and ship it to Finland.
That way, you will be able to tell the dealers exactly what you want

because belive it or not..the import taxes make it a more expensive option to do that!!

I have been looking at www.mobile.de for an import, but after discussing this with a few friends here the cheaper option is to buy from a dealer!!

at...hold your breath...€56k!! It ain't cheap, hence why I need to choose carefully!!

No, 56K Euro!! But TBH any car over here is friggin expensive...the Mitsi is 56k and the Focus is 40k (but that has the blue oval of death on it)

UK price, double it...plus a bit more..then you have the price here in Euros!!
