look for:

1) History
2) Mileage
3) How many owners
4) Coloured smoke on boost (an absolute must do check)
5) Smell from the heating vents
6) Rocker cover leaks
7) Crank Shaft Seal leaks (often coupled with smell in cockpit)
8) Juddery after 4.5k revs

Do a Google search for the "Subaru Impreza FAQ", that should sort you out. I think it's around 5 seconds (ish) to 60 and around 12 (ish) to 100. But don't quote me on that.....

Remember it's twelve years old.
Not being rude, if you don't know what to look for, take someone who does.
I'm especially thinking of repaired accident damage.
Get it up on a lift if possible.
Old advice, make sure engine is cold when you arrive and want to start it.
Presumably import, so all the stuff about remap or petrol plus booster.
Above all, don't be afraid to walk away if it isn't right.
