Default HPI check

Hi,

I'm looking for a car for my mother at the moment, and have found something she's interested in (won't mention what it is as it's decidedly un-scoobynet!). I want to get the car checked first, so can you advise the best way to go about this, i.e. where do I get an HPI check done etc.

Thanks in advance,

Brian.

I used these guys for £9.95

https://www.mycarcheck.com/

They provided pretty much the same info as HPI which then cost me £39.95. The difference is that HPI provide a guarantee if there information turns out to be false. But to get the guarantee you have to also supply the MOT certificate number and V5 issue date and serial number.

A free check can be done here to at least make sure the number plate matches the car

i used one called reg check, 87202, it covers stolen recov , etc, ever been scrapped, change of last owner, costs £4.50 unless you subscribe, then its £1.50 eveytime you check a car,
but what it fails to mention is if the car has any outstanding finance,
, so be carefull, always get a proper hpi check done it could be money well spent.
