Fuel not working after 2 weeks!!!
had my STI upgraded to TSL333. After ONLY 2 weeks the fuel pump has failed!!
AA, Subaru Assistance and Subaru dealers have said the same thing!
Problem having changed as Subaru want a receipt of purchase and TSL won't fix it until I get the vehicle too them. What a nightmare.
I hear fuel pumps hardly ever break down???

As Simon says above I'd have thought that the TSL 333 would have completely voided your warranty !!
It might be less hassle to get a local specialist to fit a replacement pump and haggle with TSL for reimbursement.

As above, on Very dodgy ground, they want you now to prove you have no warranty be very careful IMHO or you might end up more than you bargined for, possibily a big bill

yes i would imagine a tsl 222 will completely void your warrenty so fully expect a bill from subaru for ALL of their costs.
As far as i am aware tsl should have fitted the reliable Walbro 255 fuel pump. If not HAVE WORDS!!!!
If you are near lincoln i can always fit you a new fuel pump in about 30 mins.

Surely if TSL fitted a new fuel pump as part of their pack, then if it's failed they'd just replace it, and send the faulty one back to the manufacturer ???
If Subaru fit a fuel pump, it'll be the standard one, so you'd have to replace it anyway as the TSL package needs the uprated fuel pump.
Can't see your problem really? Just take it back to TSL, and see what they say.

Your warranty is void due to the mods unless your dealer is sympathetic. If the fuel pump was replaced by TSL then under the sale of goods act, they are responsible as it reasonable to expect a fuel pump to last longer than 2 weeks.

Thanks all for the replies.
Subaru assist was called out to tow the vehicle because it broke down. The car is under the warranty and isn't void if I just changed the exhaust system and panel filter. (They told me this). I also mentioned that a Prodrive uprated fuel pump was fitted. (I tolds them this was done before I bought the car). They asked me if I had receipts for the prodrive fuel pump and I said no cos it was changed before I bought the vehicle.
I spoke to TSL and they said their Walboro fuel pump is identical to the one prodrive use. They said they'll change it for free but I have to get the car to them. Unfortunately unless I got the vehicle to TSL they wouldn't help. I had the vehicle towed to the local dealer via subaru assist.
If Subaru don't fit the uprated fuel pump, i've ask them to fit the standard fuel pump and I'll drive (very slowly) to TSL who will fix it for free.
I think it's quite bad that I had a uprate fuel pump fitted and it fail within 2 weeks! I hear they don't normally fail!! Bad luck I guess.

Just to play devils advocate... !! (see post 10)
You have done more than a panel filter and exhaust (TSL 333) so you have told porkies to the Subaru Assist guy. This could be considered as fraud (as you have gained a pecuniary advantage) to get the free tow !!
Naughty !!

imho
pay for a new fuel pump from tsl with the understanding you will return the old one and get your refund
then PAY for subaru garage to refit you fuel pump - if they charge you for an hours work guess that will be £70 ish ( should be no longer than an hour more likely 1/2 hour but minimum charges etc)
why risk anything lifes to short, you took the risk and modified could have been allot worse than £70 if it had failed over time

I've spoke to TSL and they said they'll send me a new fuel pump. All I need to do it return the old fuel pump so they can send it back to the manufacturers.

At the end of the day. A subaru dealership only cares about earning money from Subaru for the labour. They will not void your warranty otherwise they won't get paid for the work! Subaru themselves might BUT not the dealers.

Fitting the TSL 333 tuning package has voided your waranty with IM.
You might argue that if an electric window breaks it might be covered, howver if anything mechanical / engine / drivetrain breaks down you are on your own !!
Despite what the dealer might say it's IM's shout at the end of the day and don't expect any favours from them.
Just like your insurance is invalidated unless you have told the insurance company about your mods.

I don't know about Subaru however most Service Managers are incentivised in miminising warranty work and maximising paid service work. Clearly it all depends on the dealer contract.
Personally this feels like very thin ice and whilst you may pedantically have answered the question - if IM challenge it you would not have a leg to stand on.
Two or three years ago IM became MUCH stricter on warranty work as so many cars were modified and breaking.

ow and they do care as said they don't like doing warranty work, as its such a small job they are doing it, but as said you are lucky
they have alreday lost 2k ( or what ever a ppp costs these days) why do you think they would want to lose more
