Default P1 prices

Have P1 prices dropped quite abit recently. In auto trader and other mags, you get such a variety of prices. Does anyone know what they are going for, realistically?

Eg. 70,000 mile car

I would say between £10K and £15K...though tooo many horror stories to do with engines going bang...think people just dnt want them...i was looking to buy one..but decided on the STI 8 for many reasons...

Though i am sure there are some good examples out there of the P1...i just did not wan to take the chance..as i am sure many others would not either..hence the price drop..

I have seen many advertised that have had rebuilds...and some need rebuids...

Agree P1 is a great car, but with all performance cars they need to be maintained. Dont think they are any more problematic than the STi5 type R.

I did 20k in mine without a problem, and they do hold there price better that a lot of scoobs do.

[quote=Scrappy9] Dont think they are any more problematic than the STi5 type R.and the sti5 is reliable
there is obviously a problem with the p1. so many with 1 or even 2 rebuilds from as low as 25k miles, something aint right. awesome cars to own if you are man enough to accept the potential problems. im not.

Not that I'm an expert but the kind of reliability that I've heard of is not what you want when you're spending over 10 grand on a car. When you spend under 5k on a motor, you can take a rebuild on the chin. Still, P1's like all cars, will find their level in the end.

Lots of threads about this before. P1 basically being an Sti 5 not properly mapped for UK fuel, hence some eventually going pop.
