Default I'm BACK!!!

I've returned to the Flat 4 Fold!! Despite a rather large drawback which a few of you will know about.. I've bitten the bullet and taken a rather large increase in my insurance premiums to ensure I got behind the wheel of an Impreza again.....

I've bought a MY99 PPP 4dr, in White. Completely standard throughout, in immaculate condition, great base for a few well chosen mods. Car was based South of Bristol, but it was a good enough deal to tempt me into making the c1000mile round trip to buy it!!

Will try and upload pics once I've given it a good wash later this afternoon.

Cheers,
Grant

Haha, wind your neck in Gene...

JT, noticed that on another thread........ dont suppose you've got those Speedlines kicking around do you??

John, it was between DBM and White and I've only ever seen a couple of White 99-00 UK models.. so thats what sealed the deal for me.... that, and the price, PPP, FSSH and 46k miles.

Cheers,
Grant

white every time mate. I had a 98 ptr facelift model PPP before the MY05WRX.

and to be honest, it was a better car to drive, dont know what, just the newage WRX's seem a little to sedate...

what you got planned ?

Hi Grant,

You can't come on here and say something like "Despite a large drawback which some of you may know about".

You know what we are like - nosey b'stards. Come on, spill the beans !!!

Show us your "large drawback" !!!!!

For sale as it happens old chap.

215/45/17 P Zero Corsa's are one Trackday old. Open to sensible offers.

A lad who was 'interested' in my RA said his ins. quote doubled when he listed the mods, so you're probably better off with a standard car given your circumstances. Glad you're sorted mate .....En-ger-land....

Seems sensible, a couple of things you may wish to consider. The standard shocks start to tire around the 40K mark. I'd leave the springs until you can afford to do both shocks and springs (or ASTs), otherwise you'll pay the labour for the springs, knacker the shocks within a few thousand miles and then you'll have to pay the labour again to fit the shocks. The rest of the chassis mods seem choice, although perhaps the front ARB is overkill.

Regards the exhaust, the H&S kit is superb, but think about leaving the unrestrictive standard resonator in place. Leaves you with a pleasing note and stops people thinking you're a selfish ned. The Prodrive back box will help of course.

The only other thing I'd suggest is getting the car mapped when you have the exhaust/decat fitted. You really want to make the most gains from the mods and keep the thing running sweet. Expensive I know, but you could always not spend your hard earned on ponsey cosmetics....

Very sensible advice. Isn't hindsight wonderful - rossyboy in dire need of some new shocks

LOL @ Poncey Cosmetics!!

You should have seen the Veilside Kit I was gonna slap on the RA........

You'll have a PM in a minute regarding the Speedlines.

I hear what you're saying about suspension, I've actually lined up some Tein Coilovers for a very pleasing price.. but the guy is in two minds whether to split his mods or not.

I was wondering about the re-map/decat thing, but would have to source a new ECU as I'd like to keep my Prodrive one un-tampered so I have the option to re-fit it come re-sale time..

I've put up a few pics of my new car here.

Cheers,
Grant
