That was technically a typo and not a spelling mistake as such

Ah, you must have been driving outwith the 60dB down contour of the nearest MacDonalds.

This is determined as the distance over which some yoof with his baseball cap pulled down over his ears can detect a vent to atmos dump valve. Once the noise is attenuated by 60dB it can no longer be detected by such a yoof and so he drives around in a random pattern. However, as soon as he picks up the noise he homes in on its source and within seconds the MacDonalds car park is buzzing with hundreds of them.

Some more advanced models take other noise sources, such as the jangle of fake jewelry, into account but the 60dB figure, plus the attenuation provided by a baseball cap would appear to work well enough in most real world situations.

Yep they are nowdays, I got my first one back in 99 and it was different then. My current one will be my last, I might go for something a little more obscure like a ford escort!

Saw 5 Aston Martins within 2 miles a couple of days ago. 3 passed me as I pulled in at our local farm shop, and another 2 were at the next roundabout as I left. The nearby JCT Aston dealer must have had an event on. I have to say though, they sounded awesome as they hit the loud pedal as I turned off

2 or 3 Scoobs pass my house quite regularly, but 2-3 Ferrari's do too, and about 8 Porsches. Where I used to live was a veritable millionaires rat-run, as 1 mile down the hill we had a Ferrari, Porsche, Lotus, Maserati, Aston and Bentley dealer, and they often used our road on their test-drive routes.

If we're talking common muck then it has to be BMW's, Merc's and Audi's. Thousands of them, everywhere you look
