Default Is this reasonable?

I have booked my MY01 WRX in for a 45K service and I was quite happy with the price I was quoted.

However I have now been informed that I need new front discs and pads and this will be an additional £286.

In addition to this I have just been told I also need new rear pads too and this will be another £100.

Is this reasonable? (it's at the main dealer)

Put it like this, I have a MY02 WRX and I got Front Group N cross drilled & grooved disc's, Ferrodo DS2500 pads (Front & Rear), Braided hoses (Front & Rear) and Motul 5.1 brake fluid for around the same money (alittle less in fact) - albeit I fitted them myself. Quite an upgrade for the same money if you're prepared to do it yourself. Considerable improvement in braking!

I think I'd rather pay the money and get it done properly than **** it up myself though.

I do appreciate your point though (i'm going to have crap, expensive brakes)

I had mine done on my 30k main dealer service (MY01 WRX) - £100 for the pads, £100 for the discs, £100 to fit.

In hindsight, I should have bought uprated discs and pads for similar money.

Out of interest, what were you quoted for your 45k service, (and does it include cambelt)?

£350 including cambelt change.

Well I've not had the brakes done yet but have booked it in to have the discs and pads replaced early July.

I would consider uprated discs/pads though so can anyone recommend anywhere in the North West where I can get them fitted and more importantly cheap?
