sti ra v2
What is the difference between the above and a my00 uk in weight terms.
What body parts on the sti ra makes it lighter. Im looking at trying to make the car lighter but don't really want to start pulling out seats etc.
MY00 310/270 at present, are the sti ra v2's running around the same power?
Thanks

ok, RA's do come with A/C, lighter aluminium wings, aluminium/plastic bonnet, fibre glass/plastic rear quarters, and less sound proofing. go through the rev range like an animal, but absolutely sh*t top end

See, this is the thing, every one has something different to say about them.
Plastic bonnets!!! I dont know what ever next.
Is there a website where i can find the true spec? Im in two minds to get one or carry on playing with myoo. Some say there horrible to drive, great for a track with nice surface yet not so great for every day road use.

To reduce weight on a MY00.
Light wheels, Replace front seats (have you ever lifted one!), GRP bonnet, would be about the only things to keep it fairly standard.
From there, loose speakers and stereo, remove insulation from under carpets and boot linings, change to wind up windows and loose central locking. have A/C? bin it. Lightweight battery.
All these things added up should give a decent saving, but do you really want to? There's no point in removing 5Kgs if you're not going to go the whole way.

I have a 1996 STi RA (second STi RA I have owned) - great, great cars.
Check out www.type-ra.co.uk for definitive answers to queries regarding the different specifications for the RA.
Mine has air con and electric windows, cars could be specified with almost any extras that were available to other Impreza models.
