Default quick tyre question

hey, this may sound obvious to some, but i just want to make sure

my mate has almost new bridgestones from his evo 340, they are 235/45/17

will they fit my 2005 sti, i have stock wheels with 225/45/17..

They would fit OK but ideally woud benefit from 8" rims as opposed to your 7.5" They will, due to the larger rolling radius, raise your gearing a little and put the speedo out a bit. There could be a slight concern with clearance at wheelarch and /or strut?
