light fly wheel
I know a lighter flywheel will let it rev quicker but what exactly does it mean when you say it will be lumpier low down. I understand the physics of what it does and that there will be less of a smoothing effect on the engine etc, but what is the actual effect on the car?
i.e. what difference does it make in the real world?

I have a 4.2kilo flywheel on my New Age STI and have had no ill effects as a result of it, just a freer reving engine and quicker throttle response
Definatly worth doing if you're replacing the clutch IMO

I have a 4.7kg flywheel on my car and it has gone slightly lumpier at idle. All it means is that the revs don't hold perfectly still and move up and down ever so slightly. Not even a needle width in my case, so maybe +/- 50rpm at most.
It's also easier to stall.
