And it wont look right outside Maccy D's carpark.

Then there's the attention you'll gain from the plod etc

Although school girls might be fooled into thinking you have money and style

if lowering for handling improvement i would seriously think of 16 or 17 inch wheels at the largest.
then eibach springs

seems to me that, you sit on maccy ds carpark yourself seen as you know what looks right and what doesnt on there, also scoolgirls must have come onto you then seen as we both have subarus and you say this is what they think, take it the police have moved you on a few times then,

Unfortunatly, when working and am hungry, I do visit Maccy D's for some sh!te food to keep going. Hence I see you lot giving it large.

I have never 'lowered' or fooked about with any car, no point. Save your money and buy a better car. If your not happy with yours, why buy it

IMHO I think it would be a bit of a hard ride if lowerd on 18s unless you had a full setup including shocks and springs not just lowering springs

So does that mean you have not modified your car in any way?

How can the handling be improved by fitting larger wheels? All that bigger wheels do is increase the unsprung wight f*cking the handling on an already averagely handling car (a surfeit of grip makes up for ****-poor handling). Inreasing the rolling radius effectively reduces your braking performance too.......... The McDonalds car park car-prep experts will all know better of course.

Of course it can! I had 15 inch wheels with a 60 profile as standard and I can promise you the car handles a lot better with 17s on than it did before.

You have got me stumped on the f1 thing, but going by the point your trying make why do WRC teams use such a low profile tyre and not big ones like f1?

I have a UK Turbo MY99. Its lowered on eibach springs and has standard shocks. I am also using some 18' P1 Alloys wrapped in Goodyear F1's.
Car handles better and softer than my old sti 4 running standard springs/shocks and 17's.

I dont understand your point. I know it grips more, in my veiw the more grip you have the sharper the handling is and the more positive feedback you have through the car which equals better handling .

f1 cars have small rims and large tyres because the rules say they can only use a 13 inch rim.

Also the tyre has a high side wall so it can "give" as the suspension is so hard, also its for the same reason as drag cars have large sidewalls, it increase the contact area under acceleration, thats also why they run low pressure. And a low sidewall tyre would burst due to the extremes of temp and changes in pressure.

According to Bridgestone.....

Sorry, I forgot. Because Subaru's grip better than F1 cars (we have more down force) We need bigger wheels and smaller tyres....

grip and handling are two very different things, you cannot quantify handling but you can quantify grip.
