It will slip like buggery for a start, or just fail completely leaving you with no drive. Any burnt plastic smells from under the car after a hard drive would be another indicator.

Boot it from 30mph in 4th gear, if the revs pick up quickly but the car dont, its slipping?

biting point gets very high as well

to be honest youd notice the smell! if its really fecked youll even hear metal grinding.

good test is to leave handbrake up and take off in a high gear. dont stall youve either got a fecked handbrake or dodgy clutch

ive jus tried the hand brake, i put in third with hand brake up, the car did not stall i also smelt something burnin, and also a bit of smoke?

Get a new clutch . You can pick up an Exedy single plate clutch for about £150 .Probably cost you around £250 quid labour to fit it. Just had mine replaced managed to pick up an Exedy for £150 and because my engine was out any way i didn't have to pay any labour to fit it.
