small dents
what is the best way to deal with small dents? is it something one can knock out safely or is the paint work at risk?
you can just make it out in this pic. top left of sidelight.

what i mean is i put a colour code into the pc and it gives me a formula to mix the colour using a range of basics i have on the scheme some colours you can go down to a acurate mix of only 20 gramms of basecoat some colours the min acurate mix you can do is half a litre my basics cost £38 plus vat per litre so if you add half a litre of basecoat to a quarter litre of laquer @ £16 then activator @ £15 then thinners ,masking, primer and my labour electricity rates mortgage on the premisis how can i compete with a guy who turns up in a van spends ten minnits with a probe and a mirror and you cannot tell the difference between my finnished job and his exept mine costs £120 and his is £40

Theres loads of companys specialising in this now.
Its called paintless dent removal, they use special tools to gently massage the panel back into shape without damaging the paint
One of the most common is a company called chips away
www.chipsaway.co.uk theyr'e a franchise and have branches throughout the uk, I'm going to the one in Glasgow next week to hopefully have removed a couple of small dings caused by inconsiderate b@stards parking too close then opening their door into mine. £55 quid for first dent and around £20 for any subsequent dent.

i had a couple of similar sized dents down the side of mine, got ridiculous quotes from the bodyshops....you'd think that if they had business sense they'd offer dent removal as well instead of quoting 3-4 figure paint jobs...just have a guy on the payroll doing small dents all day using the same methods as dentbusters...plenty of work. So you get smaller fees but you get a good chunk of profit, no fussing about with supplies beyond tools and some safety gear, and best of all, people coming to your door and return business for the bigger stuff. Then you get the chance to wax lyrical about how much the paint costs you and hiss and suck through your teeth and go on about how matching the paint will be difficult and that is why it going to be an arm and a leg and generally treat the customer with contempt like so many in this country.
So I went to the small dent guy in my locale, and he's got work coming out his ears, but he turns up and seriously I cannot find the dents now. Even one that was close to where yours is. A scholar and a champion and guess what: I've got more dents from inconsiderate people in parking lots and I'm bringing more business to the small dent bloke.
The bodyshops mostly (not all!) are there to siphon the extra pint of blood out of you that the insurance companies missed.
