Question wr1 high mileage

new member looking for some feedback from wr1 owners, i have been looking at a couple of wr1s with around 45000 miles on the clock and was intrested to know if any owners out there had cars with as higher mileage as this and had they encountered any problems with them , both cars are selling for around 18500, would i be better staying clear of them?

Plus it should still have a 12 month worth of warranty left on it as well.
So no worries unless it looks a dog.

Up to 35K in mine & only real problem has been the rear strut needed changing (which Subaru garage did without hassle).

Just make sure that the car has a full service history (every 5K miles / 6 months) and you should be fine

Why's that then - is the WR1 serviced more than the blobeye sti ie 10000 miles or annually? (Or are you talking about oil and filter only).

The WR1 has an extra 5K service called a 'power-check' which is really an oil change, still costs around £90 though!

Hi Foxy, I`ve got a WR1 too & would second the other comments about ensuring the regular services are in the book & done by a Subaru dealer! With 45k on the clock it all depends how the car has been driven too so check for the obvious signs of neglect!

Personally, I`d pay a little bit more for a lower mileage example...my local dealer has a WR1 with 30k for £20k but u can get better deals on the WR1 owners website!

Hope that helps in your search & good luck !! It will be worth it when u eventually buy one !!

Yep as above foxy head on over to wr1oc.co.uk there are a few lower mileage ones around, mine had just 14k on it and you should be able to get one around that kinda mark.

Was thinking of selling mine for a while with 11500 miles on and i wanted about £21500 ish ,but have decided to keep because it is so much fun to drive and did not hanker after anything else in the price bracket ,so no point changing .
Keep looking ,plenty of decent ones about and I have only had positive comments from people who have seen the car .
