Default MY03 STI Petrol consumption

I'm about to embark on a 500 mile round trip in the Impreza and am curious to know what its likely to cost. 95% of the journey will be cruising on motorways which is something i dont usually do.
I know my car isnt the most economical thing around town but that doesn't bother me, i just wondered how they performed at a constant 70

I don't know the offical figures so i'm guessing around 22mpg.

Nik.

Would say that the 22mpg is an average 'around town' figure with a mix of driving thrown in.

At a steady 70 cruising (constantly off boost) mine returns approx. 35mpg . Full throttle blasts in the mid range soon see this drop though. So, if you're after reasonable economy (or as reasonable as it gets in Scoobyland) then self restraint is needed!

That will more than cover it - if driving at a steady 70 I'd say £65 ish. If driven harder you could soon go way over though.

Around £70-£80.

You will NOT manage 500 miles without playing at all

I rarely do Motorway journeys but when went to Alton Towers last year with a boot full of luggage and booze (for the weekend) and 3 passengers i sat at a steady 70mph all the way with one or 2 80-90 overtaking blasts and averaged 27mpg over the 500 mile round trip.

That was in a standard 02 STI Type UK. Normally i get about 20-25 on country lanes. Bit of a shock as my CTR would do 40+ on motorways
