Serves you right for driving a car which produces as much Co as one of those awful large 4x4 thingies
I know how you feel, I've just got my new one as well!
JohnD
PS Tell you what pi**ed me off - my son has an EVO IX and because they're sold on an "import" basis, it's still £165!!!

I would get all you DeCatted boys to have your emissions checked and taxed £5000 if there is evidently no CAT.

Ah, but the tax is based on C02 emmissions. With no cat, it doesn't all convert from CO, so less C02 = you should pay less tax, not more.
(having said this, I still run a cat)

On Wednesday 22nd March 2006 the Chancellor made the following announcement regarding Vehicle Excise Duty (VED)

Cars registered on or after 1st March 2001 which fall into Band B (CO2 emissions 101 – 120 g/km) will have their annual rate of duty reduced by £35.00 (40.00)
Cars registered on or after 1st March 2001 which fall into Band C (CO2 emissions 121 – 150 g/km) will have their annual rate of duty reduced by £5.00 (100.00)
Cars registered on or after 1st March 2001 which fall into Band D (CO2 emissions 151 - 165 g/km) and E (CO2 emissions 166 – 185 g/km) will remain at the current rate. (125.00)
Cars registered on or after 1st March 2001 which fall into Band F (CO2 emissions 186 and above) will have their annual rate of duty increased by £25.00 for Diesel and Petrol Cars, Alternative Fuel Cars will have their annual rate increased by £20.00. (190.00)
A new emission band has been introduced for vehicles newly registered from 23rd March 2006. Band G will encompass CO2 emissions figures 226 g/km and above. (210.00)
The DVLA site doesn't mention band E ???? but the new band G is shocking

Just got mine in the post this morning, £190 also.
Remember when someone on here was asking about the colour of the tax disk for each month as they wanted it to co-ordinate with the car?

My JDM STi is Sept 2002 registered.
So how come the tax was £175.00 and not the usual £190.00
I paid for it last week at the DVLA on-line option.
Does this make it cheaper?
So not only is a JDM far better spec'd and have more power than a UK STi, it's now cheaper to tax also.
Excellent.
