I know this is a daft question but, recently I've been looking around for a *really cheap* runabout for the girlfriend. She has a budget of £1,500 and needs to find something reliable.

I was wondering if there's any national used car dealerships that have some kind of charter or quality control that can ensure they're not rip-off merchants, like most of the dealers I've visited so far ? I know it may be asking a lot for a car worth £1,500 but I thought I'd ask anyway.
