WR Blue Sti8's in demand ?
#2
I always thought STis were in demand, regardless of colour. When I came to buy one, There were 2 to choose from (Both Black). One had the PPP pack but had everything changed on it to look like a Standard WRX apart from the Brakes and 17" alloys. It even had all the decals removed. The other one was a standard car without PPP. Anyway to cut a long story short I managed to get the standard car, but just as I was closing the deal another prospective buyer was coming through the door enquiring about it. 2 Days later the PPP'ed one had gone as well. You have to be quick.

I hope so - I've just put mine on Pistonheads. I'm not desperate to sell, but I have seen an Evo that I would *really* like to replace it with...
There seem to be huge variations in price between Subaru dealers, non-Subaru dealers and private sellers, but I've pitched mine at the lower end in the hope of getting a quickish sale.

Not in my experience there not.
A couple months ago I tried to sell my 05 STI PPP in WR Blue, with Prodrive spring kit & Prodrive PFF7 alloys, making the car a very good spec and only 10 months old.
I'd looked about the Subaru web site and noticed that second hand 05 STI's were on the forecourts at between £22k and £23k. Not all with PPP, springs and alloys. Phoned around a few dealers to see if they wanted mine. Out of 7 dealers I phoned 5 didn't want it and 2 only offered me £16k. One dealer, when asked why he would only pay £16k when he would/could probably sell it for anywhere between £21 and £23k, he said it wasn't worth it. WTF ???????? It was only worth his effort if he made £5k profit.
Obviously I still have my car, and in a way I'm pleased I never got rid of it now, but it really p1ssed me off speaking to those dealers, and realizing just how much money they were wanting to make off me. I got the usual salesman cr@p about, if they didn't sell it within 6 month's they'd have to stick it in at the auction and just get what they could for it, even if that meant making a loss.
Scary thing is, people do believe the cr@p they spout. God, they must rip certain people off rotten.
