You need to have a Stage Rally National B Licence - which you just fill in a form for and send money to the MSA...

...but to be a driver you have to have completed a BARS course first which you book at a registered rally school and guess what...yep, you pay them money too!

BARS is not hard to pass, unless you are completely irresponsible

Navigators don't need to do a BARS course.

get on the msa website and order a rally starter pack, that will let you know where the test centres are for your license.

You need this anyway for your license number, cant just turn up to a test centre on the day.

You need a nat b license, and brush up on the rules and regs in the blue book (comes with the pack) as there's a written test too.

Scottish or english challenge?

oh sorry, re read that.

There's a driving and written test to do, but as long as you're not a moron you'll pass.

45quid for the starter pack if i remember 180 for the test.

If you have any questions about the Challenge speak to Pat Flynn on pat@patflynn.plus.com or flynn.pat@virgin.net If not ask a ny questions on the 205 challenge forum there is a link on the Challenge site.

I set a budget for doing scottish challenge on what could realistically be done and ended up going over it the same amount again and more.

Make sure you allow a good bit of leeway as i found the odd bill ordering misc stuff that I'd not really counted for came up to 600-700 quid easily. But that's preping the car from scratch, dunno how you plan on doing it.

I thought I'd be able to save a bit by building myself but wouldn't do that again.
