Long live the wagon! Although not sure about the new shape. Hopefully see more of it this pm on Top Gear.

Tis the smartest and the best as PTMW will no doubt tell you.

As a female colleague commented Gold wheels are naff and silver is best

Flame suit on and waiting

I thought wagon and saloon looked pretty good, (better in real life than magazine pictures) didn't like the saloon's spoiler either. Much prefer MY00 'mid' level rear spoiler, and definately Silver wheels for the NEW scooby!

PSLewis & Hogster -
GOLD is more expensive than sliver, so obviously is much more betterer.

Ian Cook - nice one

ps: tech info - gold paint is also lighter than silver thus giving extra 5bhp and 6mph top end!!

I had gone off of the Gold wheels on the current shape impreza, but I have to say that they don't look bad on the MY01 (not that they ever looked bad before.... .

Why do I get the impression this is starting to turn in to a repeat of a certain 6SSK's thread......

Unhappy

She who must be obeyed says gold wheels are naff, so naff they are! (We finally agree on something).

I have been trying to persuade her that a wagon would be perfect for lugging our two labradors around (We currently cart them around in a 306 with the back seats down. They are of course not allowed in the MY00 4 door - all that dog hair!) but she thinks the wagon looks like an estate car and they are a definite no-no. It is of course a 5 door saloon ISN'T IT (She sometimes reads this list so lots of back up please!)

As discussed in a thread from the middle of last week, a majority of people, including dealers, prefer the 5dr. Personally I think the overall design works better on the 5dr than the 4dr. Having said that I'm still not overly impressed.

Josh

PS Congratulations should go to Mr Lewis for at long last writing a post that didn't include P1 and 20k in the same sentence.

Cool

I've always prefered the "sportswagon" as the one and only real Q-car!

I just love the names car manufacturers invent for estates these days: wagon, avant, tourer etc etc. It does seem that there are quite a few models around these days where the 'estate' looks better than the saloon. The question is are the saloons getting worse or the estates getting better?
I'm still reserving judgement on the new inpreza until I see it at the weekend at the mshow. I suppose one plus point is that it doesn't look like every other saloon on the road (excluding the chrysler neon of course ).
