The Rig, why don't you go for a NICE scooby? All the ones you look at seem to be fcuked-about with in some way. That one's even been de-locked on the rear doors. There must be HUNDREDS of reasonable standard imprezas on the market.

Bubba is right ............ you seem set on finding the very WORST Imprezas in the country!!
You are clearly in your late teens and think you can get a 'well sorted' Scoobie for £3:49 .............. you can't!!
PLEASE just look at the GOOD ones!!
Ignore ANYTHING thats been fooked about with and do yourself a BIG favour!

Your 26 years old then?
Well, you should just about know what you should be looking for in a car - or will this be your first car?
You do seem to be picking all the wrong cars to ask advice on - find a nice UK Impreza Wagon, MY99 or MY00, 50-70,000miles, Full Service History, 1 Owner, not raced or tracked or modified, all old MOT's + all Invoices, driven by a mature owner, pay £6000.
You will then have one of the very best value Imprezas money can buy ...... buy anything too different and buy a load of trouble!

The Rig ... not having a pop mate - I just know that spending £4000 on a polished turd will end up costing you a damned sight more than a decent £6000 straight Impreza of MY99 or MY00.
Thats all ....

In the vintage guitar world, Custom Colour is desirable, as it came from the factory that way and is generally rarer than standard colours. However anything done after the item has left the factory is regarded as refinished or resprayed, and no matter how good it looks, is worth less. I'd apply the same view to cars, myself.
