Take away the Turbo and AWD from a Subaru car and you get...

Maybe, but what a pointless thing to say as it's true of most cars? Wait for the "Take away the Cosworth engine and you're left with a Ford", "Take away the excellent build quality, incredibly powerful engines and high class image from a BMW M3....." etc etc etc.....
Except the ones that are completely crap to start with of course, which is 95%.
Or are you just trying to start an arguement m8?

It's true - my other half has sold BMWs for years and kills herself laughing at the exposed wiring/ home solder effect of the back window heater etc. I get my own back, however, asking why, if the fast BMs are so well engineered, they need all the electronic aids to get them round corners? she soon stops laughing when she's picking her teeth up off the floor........

You lot are so defensive. Without the AWD and engine, a Scoob is a pretty poor Japanese car. Imagine if the base model started off like the class leaders (e.g. Focus -- and I hate Fords....) and then the AWD and flat four were added. That would be a great car, and should be feasible for the same price as a Scooby Turbo (on the basis that a 1.8GL Impreza would cost the same as a Focus).

Someone must've had a stimulating day at work.....
Carl,
But as Subarus are 4wd to start with, they surely must already be the class leader in this field??????????
So take 1 Focus, add 4wd, a turbo charged Cossie engine, mix it together, make a load of press releases, realise it can't be done for less than £40k and then fade away. Is that what you mean?

pointless thread....
Apparently, if you were to replace Michael Schumacher's Ferrari V10 with an 998cc A-series engine from a Mini, then he would have absolutely no chance of winning the world championship. His Ferrari would then be very dull and slow.

What a load of miserable (and defensive) *******s you are - it's a fair comment to point out the less than top quality design on many elements of the sub - if it was as good as you all think it is it would be priced a lot higher (and I wouldn't be so keen to swap the P1 for a 911 turbo if I could ever aspire to those dizzy heights!).
I also have to point out that it's rather ironic for the muppeteers to be criticising this thread - have a look at your your own pointless little entries elsewhere, dry your eyes and move on!

Take the topic of this thread, add the music of Mambo Number 5, piece of timber and a saw, a little bit of lifting that's for sure, a little bit of tiling on the roof,
and hey, Bob's your builder.
Cobblers.

I don't beleive I have just read all of this thread and want to comment.
Take away your brains and your heart and you are left with a wobbly mess, till it goes hard. The thread was clearly strated by the brainless, and has got to peoples hearts, so it just proves it takes all sorts to make the world go around. Lets get on and stop having petty digs about the cars that we drive, it is all personal choice. Deal with other peoples choices.
Grow up, and play nicely share your toys around and don't dribble on the carpet.

Phew,
I've just tried it and it doesn't work - removing the engine and drivetrain means it doesn't move at all. So I've turned it into a kennel for the dog. Anyone got a spare 911 I can make a shed out of?
PS - as most people (including the muppets) appear to have taken this thread as an opportunity for some humourous **** taking, I can see only one miserable bas-tard that posted here.

Take away the breasts and **** of a nice woman and what's left?
Stab out your eyes and cut off your limbs and what can you do?
Point is: A Subaru is a Subaru (with all it's pres and cons) and it is absolutely pointless quarreling about 'what ifs'.
Basta!
