i was under the impression that the funds were to be given to "Make a Wish"....
so i guess that means option 1
hope fully you can find an easy way for us silly yank-types to send y'all our money
-j
-edit searched and found: "harities such as "make a wish" are the the ones we would like to give to, but.. the decision as to which charity / charities we give the money to will be up for vote by everyone that gives, so it is your decision.".. so never mind

Things are now moving on with the pledges that were made to Simon's highly successful world record attempt.
The way this will work is going to be in phases, so that everyone who wants to gets chance to have a say in who and how the money is divided up.
The first task is to decide HOW
Option 1. All money goes to the most popular charity
Option 2. The money is split like this
Most popular charity get 50%
2nd place 25%
3 place 15%
4th place 5%
5th Place 5%
Option 3: Other(serious only please), no muppeting.
The voting for this phase will last 2 weeks
The second phase will be to suggest charities in which the voting will take place on, when all the votes are in
The voting for this phase will last 4-5 weeks
Payment details and methods will be outlined at a later date
Please outline your decision/options in the below post.

Option 2 as well, same reasons as above !
although option 3 pick 3 or 4 charities and give equal shares would work as well That way you dont have a 1st and 4th place charity they all mean the same amount !

Agree with IC's proposal for option 3 ... 4 charities, each 25 % for example. If not, then I'd vote for option 2.
Oh, and Neil, would it be an idea to put a link in General towards this thread for maximum exposure ? And also maybe on the other relevant bbs's ? (EVO, I-Club, etc ...). Just a thought.

Hey, Neil. No editing the post afterwards to make it look like I'm the idiot!
I vote for option 2, but now you've changed the numbers the 4th and 5th get the same. Can't we go for:
1st: 45%
2nd: 25%
3rd: 15%
4th: 10%
5th: 5%
Another thought -- how much did we raise? ISTR it was around 8k, so 5% would be £400. Well worth having, IMHO.

Option 2.
I was leaning towards Option 3 but feel it would not be fair on the charity the majority deemed worthy.
Then I thought go for the charity with the largest percentage taking 55% of the proceeds with the three runners up taking 15% each but that wouldn't be fair on the 2nd place charity.
Then I thought, reverse the order given in Option 2 so 5th place got the higher percentage as, according to the vote, they probably need it more than first place and it is a charity.
