Default Insurance RIP off ba*tards....

Had my renewal today for my 03 STI PPP, last year i paid £750 with Elephant. The premium this year was £1100! lol
How do they work that one out? (No claims, accidents, convictions)

Anyway tonight within 10 minutes churchhill quoted me £600, which is more like it....
The thing with Elephant is i have to ring them NOT TO RENEW IT, before the due date...... or they will take from my credit card..... i wonder how many people have been caught out?

loads and loads and loads ........ I always ask if they have the tape recorder running and tell them I DO NOT WANT THOS POLICY TO AUTOMATICALLY RENEW ........ still ring and remind them anyway.

Apparently its for our convenience ...... not good for my 70 year old mum though, she gets confused with it all.

Default Just as a follow on....

Is £600, fully comp for a 33 y/o male with 3 points for speeding, and a 31 y/o female(the wife!) No other claims accidents or convictions, a good price on an 03 STI PPP? low risk area?

I'm, paying £730 for the same car, 35 year old with 0 points and full protected no claims, but i'm in Colchester and the car is kept on the drive (having no garage thats as good so i can do) Recon your quotes pretty good, mines with Norwich union after Direct line wanted £1085 to renew

I dunno, but try Adian Flux and see if they'll beat it. They seem good at beating prices but not very good at giving you the best price in the first place.

Priviliege was great for me but you need 4+ years NCD before they will insure you.

They guarantee to beat your renewal quote....... but don't they all lol

Just got a renewal quote from LV for a MY03 STI of 1100 quid - 5 mins on the Privilegde web site and had it down to £520 inc no claims protection, legal something or other and a free car sticker (which went straight in the bin)
