Default Battery, red indicator? & Brake warning light.

On MY97 uk turbo the battery light is on whilst driving, also when i checked the battery itself, the indicator was at red rather than its usual Green. Does that indicator mean the battery is fcuked or simply that its not charging correct ie. faulty alternator?

Also the Brake warning light is on for the fluid level, but fluid is fine. Is there some sort of sensor on the brake pads?
Would it be the same sensor as used for the Anti-lock brake light?

Appreciate any response

Its probably the alternator not charging or a short behind the dash,Check the charge rate with a multi metre would be the first port of call

After braking from speed tonight my brake warning light came on and also the battery warning light.
I will check it tomorrow in daylight and let you know what I find.
