Default What's the cheapest place to buy the PPP kit for an STi

I just got quoted £2000 by the local dealer but that's too steep.

What year is your car?

If its a pre 06 model then yes it is expensive. 2k is full price and no-one pays that these days for pre 06 PPP. Would expect to pay no more than £1500 - £1800, at the very most.

The car's a MY05. I really fancy the TSL333 kit but I'm bothered about the warranty situation because it still has 22 months remaining. Do you know who does the PPP for £1500?

Subaru Gatwick were doing one for a MY02 WRX for £1400 compared to £1600 quoted by my local delaer.. Might be worth asking them about the STI price.

Has anyone ever had a TSL kit fitted and bought a spare standard ECU and used that for when they need warranty work. The TSL kit is only a fuel pump, panel filter, exhaust and remap and the first three couldn't void warranty because they're consumable items that would add little of any HP to the car. I've had a MY03 STi with TSL kit before and I've just come back to the Impreza after selling my FQ340 and I know that I'm going to be disappointed with anything other than the TSL.

Yeah and that's when you really want the warranty.

Join the SIDC and some dealers will honour the 10% discount on parts £20 to join, potential £200 saving

As for the TSL kit and warranty, they won't give two hoots if you need an O2 sensor, new battery or any other trivial little part, but if you need a full rebuild they will look for any excuse to get out of it. It isn't down to the dealer in some cases either. If the bill is over a certain amount, IM dispatch their own inspector to look over things before approving the repair. This is what a main dealer mechanic told me.
