Question Contacting ScoobyMagazine?

Hi folks, has anyone been able to contact ScoobyMagazine by any means in the last couple of weeks?

I have a small issue I could do with speaking to them about, last week they had an answering machine on, today (Monday) it just seems to ring out. If anyone can contact them by other means I would appreciate it if you could find out when they will be taking calls / answering emails again (Maybe they are on holiday ).

TIA...D-an-W

Just checked - it was him - the post is a little older than I thought.

The comment remains - having attempted to contact him I have had no response despite emails and posts on here.

Appreciate reply, its the cloud of mystery! Surely an established company as themselves, they would pick up on this interest and give us some clear direction?

Oh well, we will see

Scooby Magazine will be getting a new name.

Details of the name, brand new website, contact details, publishing schedule and newsstand availability will be announced very shortly.

Complete details will be sent to existing subscribers automatically by email (by post where email not available).
Sounds Interesting

Jon and Dee are doing the best they can to get the magazine out as soon as is possible but are always having issues with Printers, etc as they aren't as big in production volumes as other magazines.

They may take their time getting stuff out......but the quality of the magazine speaks fo ritself. It's worth the wait.

If you knew how much its going to cost Jon to get Scooby Magaizine to go national, you'd understand why things are taking a little longer than normal to get them out.

Have faith, Jon will deliver.

Unhappy

i am a firm supporter of scoobymag but i think they will lose a lot of business due to not answering emails or keeping people up to date re publication dates etc for example the banner for scoobymag is well out of date and the bad publicity generated by erratic dates etc will only put people off as by the time it is published a lot of news is old news but when it arrives it is a quality read with articles generally better than jap perf/banzai etc

agree...

look guys, its not hard to update your website or keep us informed on how things are going, when we can realistically expect the mag etc.

We are not discussing the quality of the magazine at all. We all agree that the quality of the articles and the overall look of the magazine is top notch.
But....
as a subscriber, I expect the magazine on the date specified. If it dosent arrive, I would prefer some form of communication.
Just leaving us in the dark does not endear your subscribers, nor will it make me want to renew the subscription.

Its your choice scooby magazine...either tell us what is happening or else you will feel the effect in your pocket.
I cant put it any stronger without swearing...

"Going national" has killed many small magazines. Granted, it's tempting for any publisher to pursue, but in many cases it simply results in shoveling money into a neverending hole.

Having spoken to Jon and Dee at numerous events last year, and been told of their problems with printers and distributers, I understand how difficult it's been to get a new magazine off the ground.

But I also find it very frustrating as a Subaru enthusiast that we've only had 8 mags in over a year.

When Jap Performance and Banzai started up in the late 90's, they were every 2 months until the point they were established. Then they went monthly.
This may have been a better idea for. Oh for hindsight.

But I hope it all comes good for them, as it's a bloody good magazine and there's a place in the market for it.

I'll be patient, and enjoy the next issue when it arrives.

Well said, David.

Just a little note on the website goes a long well towards keeping people informed and happy- there is a lot of good will towards this mag and it doesn't take too much imagination to see how there may be problems with printing and distribution. I don't think people will mind much as long as they are kept informed. It's been the lack of information that appears to have caused the problems.
