Speed camera vans - what direction r u being tracked?
Hi,
I passed one of these today set back in corner of a bend - only visible in the rear view mirror once full round the bend pointing down the straight with both top windows open (and cameras exposed).
My question:
Which direction do these speed traps generally try to capture speeders:
approaching the van or accelerating away?
Thanks

In the east of england they work both ways....... In a local paper the other week they had a pic of a biker doing well over 140 from the back, i also know people who have been got head on....... Bast*rds!

Thanks, so if you are a biker closing up on a van then you're probably ok I guess (no plates on the front).
Having said that the one I saw today was in a different poistion on the return journey, maybe it was being ready for configuration on the first pass.

I had one facing me almost 4 weeks ago, i was doin 36 on a 30,i got a letter saying 3 points and 60 pound fine,I returned the letter to dispute it due to the fact that a police car was coming up from behind us so i had to speed up a little to get past a traffic island in the middle of the road so he could get past,I have,nt had any reply yet, touch wood,
