I think Scoobies time has come and gone - theres a lot of reasons why theyre so cheap now;
- nobody wants them because the image is chav/thug-mobile
- cost a fortune to run, especially with ever increasing fuel costs
- market has been flooded with cheap imports
- Subaru have lost the plot and face-lift models every other month - killing resale value, and scaring off new customers
If you can live with the negatives however, then thats a cheap fun car for peanuts!

Thats my thinking tbh Pete,
I wanted another cossie, but they're holding decent values.
I've never owned a scooby, and i'd like the experience if anything, plus for all they get knocked, they're pretty good cars, if a little bland inside!
Deffinately going to be getting one! Wont be running it as an every day car either, as i have a rover 800 diesel for that, so fuel costs arent an issue either!
just need to know the performance stats really as per my other post!
Also, having been a sapph cossie owner, the image thing isnt a problem LOL

The classic in all guises is a great car, i would not be put off by image of other owners.
My MY99 used to put a smile on my face like no other car (excluding a few hypercars i have had the pleasure of driving) its handling was pretty damn good and in the right hands on a good day is a fab car.
So what chav can now buy them, let them. It does not make the classic any less of a great drive.
They will wreck them and crash them sure but it will leave less good unmolested ones about and push up prices of the few fine unmodded ones left.
Just because the great unwashed are in a position to buy them does not make them any less of a great car.
If image is all you care about them more fool you. i for one have better things to occupy my time and would not let ths so called image thing put me off.

At a wild guess I'd say it's because it's a 13 year old car?
To put it in perspective just about every other car is worthless at that age - Citroens, BMWs, Alfas, Jags are all going for hundreds of pounds.

Mine is of course an old mans car which wont have been thrashed to within an inch of its life as a scoob undoubtably would have been.
Got your cheque by the way. Only have 1 sticker in stock just waiting for more to arrive. There was no need for the envelope by the way

Look at the price of BMW's of the same sort of year and consider what they
cost new compared to a Scoob, I think you'll find you'll of lost more money
on the Beemer !!
