Question claim or not claim??

i got hit-n-run by someone when i parked my scooby in the carpark. it seem likely to replace the bumper and the rear light. should i claim the insurance, or repair myself? but the point is, i didn't tell my insurance i have change the back box and the induction kit, decatted downpipe. will they inspect the whole car to see has it been modifed.
thanks for any opinion.

I reckon you need to claim for around £500+ to be worth it once you start paying the increased premiums for claiming, even with protected no claims!

I'd fork out for it yourself and be done with it! Shouldn't cost that!

i think you should repair it yourself as you might lose your no claims bonus?? also if you did claim on your insurance and you havent told them about your modifications your insurance would be void

Also not a good idea to come on here saying you've done this and that to your car without telling your insurance company. Big brother is watching.

Also, it would be worth speaking with your insurance company - if you have a bad accident and dont declare your mods you will get found out and hung out to dry.

They wont inspect the whole car.. Dont be so paranoid Some monkey at the body shop will probably be the only person who inspects it.

Dont think that covers all inspectors.

After an accident I had an independant inspector came a looked at the car giving me 24 hours notice. Checked everything from, tread on the tires to the condition of the brake pads - thorough wasnt the word.

After an accident yes.. But if you're claiming for a knock in a carpark you'll be fine. They wont waste their time.
