Default Any 06 sti ppp tests yet ?

Had my 06 sti for 2 weeks and am well impressessed with standard performance. Was looking to PPP in the near future but the released performance figures hardly seem worth the costs ?

How can the 30-70 time be the samne as standard with 40 bhp more ?

thanks

a confused sti owner

I mustn't have changed gear quickly enough on the PPP runs!!

In all seriousness, it's worth looking at the in-gear 30-70 figures where it's 0.4 sec quicker in 3rd and 1 second quicker in 4th. Looks like I wasn't getting such a good 2nd to 3rd change on the PPP runs as the 0-60 time wasn't as good as I felt it should be either bearing in mind that it doesn't get to 60mph in 2nd.

If you are at all unsure, some of the dealers will have demonstrators you could drive.

Well, going on my own experience (05 STI) I'd say that PPP was well worth it. I don't think I could own a standard car now. PPP makes it more drivable too. Other tuning products are available, buy you'll lose you warranty.

My local dealer 3 miles away has a new stippp demo.
If you are close to chelmsford, pop into days and have a drive.

When will the Sti PPP be available. I have had mine on order now for a while but my dealer still has no date for it.

Also waiting on Black Prodrive Flaps with no date either.

Cheers.

It's been available for nearly 3 weeks but I guess your Dealer didn't get your order into the first batch that went out. Subaru are waiting for ECU's to come back from the first batch but this has started to happen now. I'm sure it won't be too long.

The flaps are probably on the way to Subaru now so you should get them in the next few days.

Still running in my MY06 STI at the moment!

Need to start saving for the PPP!

Will the 2003 Prodrive backbox fit the 06 model & if so will it give me some of the old fashioned burble back??

Had a 53 plate WRX with PPP before and it sounded great!

Had my ppp for over 3 weeks now and done over 2k, was great as standard but what an improvement Pulls hard in every gear, very very pleased and well worth every penny IMHO Also as a by product when on the motorway returns over 29mpg
Sounds like a real Subaru now as well

Bigknd, Out of interest, what was the increase in insurance for the PPP.
I currently pay around £950 with directline and assume i will have to go in the 10% to 20% power increase catagory which i expect will be an extra £200

Thanks

With A Plan increase is around the £150 Mark but I only paid £50 due to insurance running out end of May

Mike,

Thanks for response however dealer is still saying they dont even have a date yet for the flaps.

I will probably have the 1k service in 2/3 weeks time. Is it likely that PPP and flaps will be available then?

Cheers.

They'll have the flaps either today or tomorrow and all the parts for the PPP are in stock. Subaru will just be waiting for the exchange ECU's to come back from the Dealers. If your Dealer has an order in I can't see it being a problem though.
